I've been feeling very quiet as of late. I'm struggling, so, to prevent the loss of limbs and mind, I'm moving slowly.
For insight to arise, tranquility and concentration must be there. It's not for me at this moment, though in these black robes, no one would know, would they?
I haven't given up; I'm just paying attention.
About Me
- Farmer monk
- I was given the name Kogen, which means ancient source. I'm a resident of Green Gulch Farm & Zen center with my wife, where I farm organically, study Zen Buddhism, and also practice Tea ceremony and calligraphy. Currently, my Dharma study in in the Lankavatara Sutra. My farming study is about how to make vegetables grow! (Currently reading Elliot Coleman). My married life study is by the seat of my pants and skin of my teeth! The point of this blog is to be transparent, honest, beneficial, timely, and to improve the blogosphere. I apologize ahead of time for my many mistakes!
Attention. Good for you. Easy does it.
ReplyDeleteTake your time ... but don't rely on tranquility.
Or insight either.
So grateful for your practice.
ReplyDeleteYou inspire me so. And here, buried by seven inches of snow melting into grey slush, moving slowly is necessary for survival. I fear there may be ice in my veins...
